Pish Dar Amad is a form of Persian Classical Music that could be
described as the equivalent of Preludes in the Western Classical
Music.  Pish Dar Amad is played as an introduction to the main
performance to set the stage for the listener and includes the
essence of the following music.  These pieces usually have a
slow tempo.

Persian Classical Music Forms - Disc 2 of 6

Reng is one of the Persian Classical Music forms.  It is a rhythmic
piece of music composed for Persian Traditional Dances.   The
musician is constantly helping the dancer in her or his
performance throughout the piece.  Rengs could be played with or
without a dancer as part of a recital.

Naghmeh Do Zarbis
Persian Classical Music Forms - Disc 3 of 6

Naghmeh Do Zarbi is a form of Persian Classical Music derived
from the Pish Dar Amad form (please refer to the explanations in
Disk 1 for Pish Dar Amads).  In contrast to the Pish Dar Amads,
these pieces usually have a fast tempo and are very rhythmic,
dynamic, exciting and loud.

Chahar Mezrabs are rhythmic music pieces that are very thorough
and its melodies would cover all the main variations of its modal
system.  They have main notes that are played continuously (2
violin strings are played at the same time) or are played between
every few notes throughout the piece.  They have a clear Cadence
for the ending.
