Tasnifs (Vocal): Persian Classical Music Forms

Tasnif is a form of Persian Classical Music that covers all
music pieces with lyrics.  Tasnifs played an essential role
in preserving the Persian Traditional Music over the past
centuries.  There were no music notes developed at the
time and the only way to remember the tunes was for the
singers to memorize them using the lyrics.  This recording
is a variation of Tasnifs referred to as “National Classical
Tasnifs”.
Please refer to the Tasnifs (Instrumental) for the same
pieces of music with no vocals.
